  • Look what showed up at my door!!!

My cousin won a 100 lb pumpkin and brought it to me. This thing is huge! you could lose a small family in it.

It took 1/2 hour just to cut a hole in the bottom so I can clean it. The rind is about 6" thick so I have no idea what kind of design I will end up doing. I am hoping to get the flat side of the pumpkin down to about 2 inches so I can carve something other than the same boring Halloween smile. I was at it for a couple hours today but still haven't finished cleaning it. My hands were frozen from the wet filling. It was chilly out and I was working in the shade to boot.

Bigger pumpkin than I would want to carve. Good luck.

The pumpkin rind was so thick. We laid out a few patterns and then decided to do an easy "Ghost Busters" Slimer. I need to try to find a green light stick since I don't have any green slime. I got a late start on the carving and it was getting cold out so my friend Kitty stopped by to give me a hand.

Thanks everyone. It was fun and it reminded me how much I missed carving pumpkins.

I love it! That Slimer must have been a neighborhood attraction.

I was actually surprised how many of the young kids knew that it was the Slimer.
