I wish I knew of one. Hey--we should start one!!
Where's WormyT? I know she makes some awesome Christmas props. Like her Flying Crank Snowman, etc.

We'd be counting on you Mummy, and others, to contribute and post links from what you've made and found. You would be helping build up from the ground floor, just like you are with Larry's Christmas Fan Club. :D

That web page is nice. I like the "Trip-wire Alarm system". That'd be good for Christmas and Halloween.

I was bored and decided to try and make a logo. : )

I might switch it up a bit. Let me know what you all think of it!
Edit:
Changed the snow to look more "cartoon-ish." I'm still not sure which one I like better; almost leaning towards this one...

yeah, maybe too much on top -- but they all look good, any way. :)
Maybe try one with the fluffy snow just on bottom, not on top? And if I'm annoing, ignore me -- you have done a great job w/o my "opinion"! :D

Okay Rod, I need the same graphic, only with the word "Projects" instead of Workshop.
I just bought the domain and hosting, but after a zillion tries of different combinations, the one that was still open was santasprojects.com (Santa's Projects). So, a slight change in name folks, but the good news is that we are well on our way to having a Christmas Project Site!

Having a "Monster" list, er Elf list for Christmas props is a great idea as there are plenty of easy to find overall pics of decorated houses, but searching for detail info isn't easy to come by.

I see green, but if I click on the logo, the background turns white.
Sickie Ickie
11-20-2007, 06:42 AM
Frosty, they way the site will be set up, is that you host the how-to on your own homepage, then you submit it to the site along with a photo of your finished project. Then the user can click on your picture/description and go to your how-to on your site.
PerfessorEvil is helping me write this, and will be very similar to http://hauntproject.com/ by the time we are done with it. If you haven't seen hauntproject, go see it. It is- in my opinion- the best around. More people seem familer with the monsterlist, hence why I compaired this to that, but in actuality, it will be similar to hauntproject. :D
Thanks for the update on the background folks. I think we figured out the glitch that was concerning me.

I just have about a dozen or so right now, but more will be added as needed. The nice thing about this is that your how-to will be able to be cross catagorized. For example, lets say you have an animated snowman. Well, because I have catagories for both Snowman and Animated, your how-to would pop in both to make sure the viewer doesn't miss it. :)
Right now we are fixing some glitches to make sure that Firefox and IE can both view the site with no problems.

Still doing some minor work, but now it's gone live! :D
Start adding those projects!
Mr. Parker
11-21-2007, 07:29 AM
I don't have any projects planned. I normally don't for Christmas. IF I have any extra time, I'd like to do some wood/metal work creating a couple of old-timey, traditional winter 'toys'. I have a sled I purchased, but would like to add (by my own hand) skis, snowshoes, and... well... I don't know what else.
What are some other outdoor type of equipment I could create - remember, I'm looking for traditional, earthy, items - no snow boards.

Wasn't there someone on the Halloweenforum that had a fully decorated Christmas tree connected to an air cannon? Triggered it with a motion detector and when you got close enough it jumped up at ya? LOL Those talking Douglas furs were creepy enough. LOL
New ideas for Christmas display security! Gravestone jumper or a trashcan trauma! Maybe they'll wet themselves and drop there tools. LOL
