My name is Mike. I'm an engineer, but this Christmas I also embarked on a modest side business -- making hi-tech Christmas ornaments. I joined this forum to spread the news and also get some feedback since we are first-time entrepreneurs.

I think as long as you are upfront about it, and honest, and maybe have something worthwhile to offer in return (like maybe some engineering tips when we need it, LOL), most of us are pretty okay with it. We just don't like being spammed or used.
