Does anyone use fog machins as part of their christmas display. If so what do you use it for. I was thinking of putting one in my fire place. That way neigbors would think we always had a nice cozy fire. In reality we do not use the fire place we just use are heater.

For me, I won't. It would make the Hallow's Eve fog less special.

That is very true. I have six fog machines staring at me at the moment. They are begging to be used one last time before I put them away. I think I might just drain the fluid and make them wait until next october;)

I'm still undecided whether to store mine wet or dry.

We have stored ours wet and they work just fine the next year. This year we drained them, I guess we'll see what happens.

I wish they made a sparkly fog. That would be cool in a Christmas display.

I used a fog machine last year for the train in my yard. Ran some flexible pipe through the 55-gal barrel steam engine to the smokestack.

Metal. Got it for $5 from a welding shop down the street. It had contained molasses so I had a bee problem for a little while until I got it thoroughly cleaned out. I don't weld, so just used a drill and hacksaw to make any holes I needed in the barrel.

Hmm, I did take photos of my progress as I was working. Some of them are in the archives of the blog, mixed in with whatever else I worked on that day. Yeah, I can put together a how-to, that sounds like fun. Will try to get to it in the next couple of days, but feel free to browse the archives at http://www.nancywilkinson.com/Site/Holiday_Blog/Archive.html

just read the idea to extend the railroad, NJ....that is such a great idea! How cool would it be to get the whole neighborhood involed -- not in just independent decorations, but one huge idea! Awesome!
