How do you keep them from playing with the ornaments and climbing the tree? We keep a radio under the tree at nights and it seems to work sometimes but most of the time we just keep redecorating.

I'll be curious what everyone does. I have a bay window in the front room and the tree is right in the middle of it surrounded underneath by the village so I can't really get to the window. Well the cats lay in the window & last year Charlie broke several pieces under my tree getting to & from that window. This year we have the newly adopted cat....not sure what she will be doing.

We used to hang all the soft unbreakable ornaments on the lowest branches when our cats were younger - they used to lie on their backs and bat the ornaments off. We'd rehang them once or twice a day. It was a good arrangement. When they got older, they quit playing with the tree. We have a new kitty this year and I'm sure she'll be sitting on the top of the tree before the ornaments are even out of the box.

My cats don't play too much, I keep unbreakable ornaments near the bottom, when they were young they would climb, but now thet don't, actually probably are too big to. One of my cats does like the bead garland, I have to make it real secure, otherwise it will be half way across the living room in the morning.

don't use pepper! the cats don't care and all you'll do is sneeze when you walk by.take from someone who knows! we switched to a real tree they hate it.like the water though.

LOL I just read this story on the other thread. Has anyone tried aluminum foil under the tree? Supposedly cats hate foil.
