Anybody ever done that theme for xmas?
I was having a discussion with my two best mates today - one a carpenter and one with fantastic leanings toward interior design - and we came up with the idea of doing a Jack from TNBC standing beside a Christmas tree in the garden for this year.
The carpenter - Jules - reckons on building a stick man out of dowels and then applying clay and sculpting until we get it right, stick on a bit of beard (fake spider webs should do nicely there!) and away we goooooo!

Never done it, but thought of it often.
As far as the dowels go, People have made crank spiders and used the dowels for legs. Epoxy doesn't work too well. What people have found works best is fiberglassing the joints.

On a side note -- I love how your dialect/accent comes accross all the way through the computer! Fantastic!

PVC pipe also works. Easy to cut, glue, and bend.

Welcome, i agree with using pvc, you could use screws in the joints so you could take it apart and store it after the season.

I used PVC for the frame on my "Sandy Claws" and I do leave him out for both holidays. http://www.sinisterspace.com/user/gallery/view/name_House/id_3055/title_jack-has-a-head/ His head is simply a mask found on ebay that I filled with foam.
And here he is lying in what became his coffin attached to the mechanism that opens the coffin doors and stands him up. http://www.sinisterspace.com/user/gallery/view/name_House/id_16352/title_nap-time/
