Would you believe I scored two weeks in a row??? Came home with these tonight. There both around 3 ft tall and in a need of a good cleaning. Haven't looked for makers marks yet. Gona scrub them up first. The north poll is full of sand and the snowman in full of rocks. My trunk is now full of sand and rocks. LOL When I got to the auction tonight these two items were the only things I was interested in bidding on. They were some of the first things to be sold. I got then for $1 a piece!!!! No one else was bidding on them. Couldn't believe no one else wanted them. It's either that or my charming good looks scared them off. I drove to the auction with all the windows in the car down. Long brown hair and beard flying in the wind. LOL

Putrid, congratulations! Are you coming over to the plastic side of Christmas? LOL Both of those molds were made by Union Products...no need to look for a mark. Those are nice blow molds to have. Union has gone out of business (but their molds live in, a new company has purchased the steel molds and will be producing some of them again. Which molds they produce remains to be seen). With a good cleaning (be gentle though, use a mild dishwashing soap and a soft brush if necessary) they will be wonderful in your Christmas display.

Putrid, congratulations! Are you coming over to the plastic side of Christmas? LOL .......
LOL Kinda looks that way doesn't it. They did get me thinking I could put up a pole tree. Add the Winni the poo Santa, other snowman and two large candles I have along with these guys. Might make a nice grouping. If it's ok with you I'd like to start a new thread on cleaning blowmolds. Figure other folks could use that information as well. I can't be the only one out there with dirty blowmolds. LOL
I haven't done anything to the snowman yet. Tried to clean the sign on the north pole. It's cracked along the edges on both sides. Nothing you'd see but it's still there. I didn't notice them until I started cleaning. However I did find out that if I put my hand held shower on 'sand blast' it's not a good thing. I chipped a small bit of read away inside one letter. Stopped immediately so that wouldn't happen again.

Plastic Putrid...is that similar to vinyl vomit? LOL
Great deals you got there, my friend. I have the pole sign and I think that very same snowman. :)

More like the smell of sweaty hands in latex gloves. LOL If this keeps up I'll have to change my sig to,
" putrid's pretty plastic pallace. "
OK more like,
" putrid's pretty plastic privy. "
JK LOL
Totally cool Sickie Ickie. Bet your's is a lot cleaner than what I have at the moment. Gona take some work to bring these back to life.

Plastic Putrid! Love it!
Here's another tip on your North Pole sign. The cracks really should be taken care of. Now that I see where you are, I know you get into some pretty cold temps in MO. With thaws, increased sun and heat, and then cold temps..the plastic does and will expand and contract slightly with the changing temps. The cracks might get bigger over time and moving them around (or dropping them as I frequently do..) could make them worse.
I recommend that you get yourself some good adhesive..the best kind to use is a two part epoxy. You can run a bead of it down the cracks and then use clamps or a good quality painters tape to hold the repairs until they cure.
The link to the repair article on PC is fine, but so much of that information is out of date. I wish there was a way I could link you guys to the new article? Is there a way to get it posted here? I would be happy to make it available?

Carrie you can post a link by using the link icon in the quick reply or advanced reply screen. It's the pic of the earth with the chain in front of it. Copy your link, click in the message box where you want to put it. Then click on the link icon. Paste your copied link in the link address box and it will now be available for anyone to use. If you think you might have trouble use the advanced reply screen. (speaking from experience. LOL)That way you can preview the results before you post.

Thanks Bethene, but it only looks that way because that's the ones I post about. Plenty of Christmas stuff I get out bid on. Just gota keep in the game. Can't win them all but I do like the ones I win! Besides, when you got finances like I do bargains is all you can afford. LOL

Thanks, Putrid. But the only place that my new article is currently available is on Constantly Christmas so the link will not work as our board blocks out anyone who is not a member. Bummer..
I sent the new article to Chuck Smith a couple of weeks ago. He hasn't changed it out yet. I'm going to ping him on it. Once he changes the article, the link Sickie Ickie has on his site will go to it.
