Years ago, we used to have a Yule Party on or near the Solstice, where we would roast an entire hog...rent a 16person Hot tub, and have a roaring fire.
I would like to do that again!

It was! One year...it was only 12degrees...we were out in the hot tub until 3:00am and our hair was caked with ice. We actually had to step out of the tub once in awhile to cool down.

we roasted a pig also a couple of times for parties. you can actually rent a roaster at the party rental stores for about $60. we used about 15 large bags of charcoal and it usually takes about 10-12hr to cook depending on the size. I'll post a pic as soon as I find them.

An Expedition. the pig we picked up, the roaster the party place delivered it.

there are a couple of butcher shops in the city that carry them seasoned, cooked or uncooked. cleaned and ready to go!! I usually find them at Hispanic or Greek butcher shops. next time I roast one I'll be sure to let you know.

I don't really like to eat food when it's looking at me...but other than that, it is pretty cool!

let me just say, when every one saw what we were making they were pretty grossed out, but in the end I think the smell of it cooking got to them because I never got to taste the pig, It was all gone by the time I had a chance to sit down and eat.:(

I've only been to a whole pig roast a couple times. Both were held by an acting friend who threw Shakespearean costume parties. Yes...the pig is gooooooood! Guess that's why you call hungry actors hams!

Forrest J. Ackermann, "Forry" to those of us who grew up reading him, was the longtime editor of Famous Monsters of Filmland. More of a rabid fan than a professional writer, Forry's specialty was really atrocious puns, like "Karloff-fornia" for "California". He's still active in the horror/fantasy field, although I believe he's in his nineties now.

It's an addiction, I tell you! And it's not just puns I'm addicted to - it's BAAAAD puns (no, worse than that!) - wretched puns, puns that crash and burn, truly the atrocities of the pun world. I call it Forry's Syndrome, in honor of the man I caught it from....
I've tried twelve-step programs, rehab, meditation, everything I can think of - nothing works! Where I see a bad pun lurking, I MUST flush it out into the light of day....

Flush it out? Too addicted toilet it go, eh? :p
Maybe you should start a pun story game in the games section. Everybody writes a sentence to add on using at least one bad pun.
