Reminiscing Table Runner

Fun and inexpensive!

Create one for your table, or give them to your kids for Christmas.
A great gift idea. Reminisce about past Christmas's

Supplies Needed:

Canvas fabric
Charcoal acrylic paint
Measuring tape
Fabric glue
Paintbrush
Holiday pictures
Iron
Scissors
Holiday pictures
Double-sided fusible webbing
Fabric paper for printer
Computer, scanner, Some sort of photo program
Optional: Letter stencil
Tassels

These are just basic things to get you started, once you start I'm sure your creative juices will flow and you will be adding your own personal touch.

1. Cut fabric to desired length and width, be sure to add 3/4 inch on each side for turning under. Turn edges under, using fusible webbing and iron to secure the edges.

2. Scan the pictures you would like to use onto your computer. Use a photo program to make pictures black and white and add colorful frame borders to compliment each picture. Print photos with borders onto fabric paper following manufacturer's directions. If you are using font, remember to "mirror" your image. Begin cutting out your individual photos and apply fabric glue to the edges to keep them from fraying.
3. Cut fusible webbing to same size as fabric photos and fuse the webbing to the backs of the photos. Place your photos around runner until you're satisfied with the design. Fuse photos to the table runner.

4. With charcoal paint, paint across center of runner "Remember, This December, That love weighs more than gold!" or any other phrase you prefer. Let this dry completely. If you're like me and not comfortable with free handing it, you can use a stencil.

5. WA LA! You're done! Wasn't that simple?

This is a great gift to give to your children who now have families of their own. Dig up old pictures of them when they were younger opening presents, sitting by the tree, family christmas photos or what have you. This is sure to bring a smile to their faces.

Hope you enjoy this project and if you decide to tackle it, pls post your finished product here for all of us to enjoy.

Hi Mummy, I have not used that particular product, but I have used the transfer style and it works well also. The reason I used it, was because I had it handy, and rather than running out an buying something else, I utilized what I had. I printed it and ironed onto a canvas bag. Worked out wonderfully.

Guess what my oldest daughter is getting for x-mas? :D
