What is your favorite Christmas related film?
I know it's a cliche at this point, but I have to go with A Christmas Story. I first discovered this film when I was a freshman in high school many years ago and have loved it ever since. A close second would be It's A Wonderful Life.

The Year Without a Santa Claus, Rudolph, A Christmas Story....
I was so excited when Mr. W, I mean Mr. P, watched A Christmas Story for the first time last year!!!
We moved to England only ten days after we were married and lived there for eight years. I never saw the movie while over there. :(
We were so busy the first two years when we returned to the US, we missed most of the Christmas movies again. So last year when things were finally settling down, I baked and cooked around the Christmas movie scheduled.
It was so exciting to finally watch that movie together as a family. And I think for Mr. W, he finally was able to see where some of the phrases that are embedded in our culture came from, such as "You're gonna shoot your eye out". I have one of those leg lamp ornaments that you stick a light in and it glows, LOL.
I'm such a geek, but when the movie was over I was crying happy tears! It's such a classic that I can't believe I went for so many years without it!
I know - sap.

A Christmas Story for us too. They have been playing 24 hrs of A christmas Story for the past few years on Christmas, and even though we own the DVD, we still keep it on most of the day. There is usually so much going on that we don't really have time to watch, but just the sound of Jean Shepherd's voice (and the movie in general) makes for good background noises.
This year we found a 20" leg lamp at Rite Aid. I've been wanting to attempt to build a life-size replica for years anyway, just never seem to get around to it. It's not the real thing of course, but it will do for now!

Christmas vacation ... But a christmas story comes in a close second. I first saw this about 3 years ago, being originally from the UK and not having the film over there for some reason. Luckily one of the channels here does a christmas story marathon, showing it all day, and I finally got to see it.

I think like just about everyone else said, A Christmas Story (see: username) is tied for my favorite with Christmas Vacation. A Christmas Story has always been watched every Christmas, but as far as 'movies' go, Christmas Vacation just can't be beat for the Holidays.

I like the newer Miracle on 34th street. There is a part in the movie that I just adore. There is a little pretty deaf girl who comes with her mom to see Santa. Santa starts to talk to the little girl but her mother interrupts him and tells him that she is deaf and just wants to come see Santa. Santa pauses for a second and then starts talking to the little girl in sign laungue. The little girl's face lights up and at that point you feel there is hope in the world. I just love that part.
