UPDATE: Added a video of the wholesome goodness: http://youtu.be/2GQssb-fB-o
Moved this year to a smaller and older house, but the spirit is still there. You might remember last years giant gingerbread candyhouse slabs - those have been donated to another family for them to use.
There is a neighbor around the corner that I drive past every day I drive home. During Halloween, he was one of the few houses that put out some scary stuff - even though I severely trounced him with my haunt (http://youtu.be/FvJ3q_0M4Ag). So now that it's Christmas, he is going over the top with lights. Every few days he is out putting up more lights, because every day I'm out putting up more lights. Last week, as I was driving past his house, he was outside, on his ladder, putting up icicle lights. His back was to me, I stopped, rolled down the window, and exclaimed, "Good looking lights you have there!" He turned around and saw it was me. "You. You! You better stop putting up more lights, man! I had to go get these icicle lights today, man!" Oh yea? I asked, where'd you get them? "CVS, 20% off.", he replied. Orly?! I pondered.
Here's our humble display. The weird tree in the middle is a pine tree, cut in half, that is growing at a 45 degree angle. Almost banzai style. What is hard to see in the picture is the RGB LED color changing strip that is under the porch. It rolls through a auto program every minute that gives a nice wash color to the entire porch. Sorry for the grainy pictures, it was with a cell phone during halftime and my team is losing.
