Hello everyone,

I joined here quite some time ago but never posted anything. Sorry about that. Angel sent me a friends request over here about a week or so ago. So that's when I started my postings over here.

Just a little about myself. My name is Darrel and I live in PA with my family.

Here's the link to my site where you can learn more about my displays: http://www.moyerdisplays.com/

I hope you enjoy my site!

Thanks,

Craig

Hi Darrel!

It was so nice to see your name on the member's list here. You certainly are one of the biggests fans of Christmas I have ever met! It is nice to see you posting!

To the other members, Darrel is a very polite young man with great enthusiasm for all things Christmas. He collects all sorts of great Christmas items and he and his father are very involved with model trains too! Really nice young man who has been to my home several times.

Darrel, as a matter of fact... we are heading out right now to one of your favorite places... The Choo Choo Barn and to ride the Strasburg Railroad! (...and of course no trip down there would be complete if I didn't make a quick stop at Almost Paradise and see what blowmolds they have for sale!) Talk to you later!

Hi Craig!

I've been busy working on my display as well at College so I don't have a lot of time to be over here and I haven't had the chance yet to go through all of these forums. Although it looks nicely laid out and the topics seem very interesting.

Thanks for the complements!

And I like your signature ;)

Hi Angel!

It's so nice to see you over here as well. Thanks for the complements!

It's been years since I've been to the Choo Choo Barn. I know Rooadside America changed a few things over so I'm suspecting the Choo Choo Barn did the same thing. I hope you and your family rode the train at Strasburg! Please post some pictures of what you get at Almost Paradise.

You and your family should stop by the display this year. As well as anyone else who might be close by!

Thank you for the welcome! And thanks for the complements on the candy cane arch! They were sold at Lowes about 6 years ago or so.

*I just realized I forgot to post with the quote. I'll do so from now on.

Hi Tom,

Nice to see you here too! I'm sure I'll be able to find time to post on here.

Thanks! I can't wait to see your display this year as well! You do such a great job with all your Blowmolds. I really like your flying reindeer set. Not sure if I can say it here but I'm looking for some more Empire deer so I can have a set like you someday.

Speaking of trains Angel, and everyone, here is a picture of our train layout. I have N scale up on the third level and my Dad has his HO on the first and second levels.

I have my own N scale layout over on the other side of the basement. We also have some Lionel and American Flyer trains as well. I must say, these two hobbies seem to mix well together.

Tom, may we see a picture of your AF layout? If anyone else has any layout pictures to post, feel free to do so.

Hello putrid!

Thanks for the welcome! Yes, I did cut the bushes down quite a bit to fit my display in.

lol yes we've all been there. It seems to happen to me with at least one light string every year. It never fails.

Thanks! I have a few more pictures of my trains I'll be sure to share with you guys in the future! Our train layouts are always a work in progress as a train layout can never be completed since there is always room for improvement, much like a Christmas display.

LOL How true I designed my new landscape with that in mind! This is why a fountain and perrenials was placed in the center of the main landscape, at holiday time it comes down the flowers get cut down and I have a space big enough for the Nativity.

lol you mean one of your many Nativities. I don't think I know anyone who has as many outdoor Nativities as you do. I like where you put your one Nativity out front there. What are you doing in the backyard this year? Are you putting in your Santa line again?

My dad had an electric trolly set-up in the family room. He didn't do trains because he insisted being from PA he had to have trollys. :)

That's cool. What scale were the trolleys? If you don't know, that's Ok.

Thanks, Darrel, I am going to put a new Nativity out back this year and actually am going to try something new this year and put the Santas out front. I hope it works. The front Nativity will go in the same place I like having the Nativity in the center of my display!

HO (as in Christmas. :))

That's cool. I saw a guy with a portable trolley set up complete with city in HO scale at a train show once. He even had the trolleys running off of the overhead wire.

AF is a neat scale. Lionel has that third rail in the middle. I like Lionel but I like AF more because it's more to scale. Kind of like the HO my Dad collects and the N scale I collect.
