I've seen a lot of videos of homes having a sparkle. Like stars, but they are just random bright lights placed over the entire home roof included. Any ideas what type of lights these are? They are very random and create a twinkle effect, but are a large twinkle because they are so random and so fast paced.

hmm, I have no idea. Strobe lights would have to be connected at the ground level right? And obviously you would need a bunch or am I mistaken?

Well, I did a search, I believe you are right, but what I need to figure out more from others here. I just don't know what type to use. Anybody use these for their display? Raz thank you for directing my correctly!

I have some strobes and the are a single unit. You could place them anywhere you want--in trees, bushes, on the roof, on the ground, most anywhere really. I don't use them because the make my wife sick when she looks at them. Messes with her some how. There are a lot of people who use quite a bit of them in their displays.

Yes, the single unit ones like razlfratz mentioned screw into a C9 light socket. They are a quick easy way to add "sparkle" to an element in your display. I use about 50 of them inside my mega trees.

Thanks Buckeyelights, I had forgot about the ones that screw into a light string. Never used them. The ones I have are the kind that plug in
separately. But I guess you could do the same thing with them. I just have never used them. Wife doesn't like them--lol

How do they sparkle onto the house? Wouldn't they sparkle in all directions. How would I get the C9 to sparkle onto the house? Does one strobe light handle a bunch of spots at the same time on a house an roof?

ij20me, I'd assume you'd get a few of these bulbs and space them out on a standard C9 christmas light string. Since you wouldn't want a strobe every 12 inches, you may only need 3-5 blubs on a single string, spaced evenly. Leave the other sockets empty and wrap with black electrical tape to keep the rain out.

Then place the string where you want, plugged into your controller. If you want them to continuously "sparkle" you'd need to control them somehow, otherwise they'd continuously strobe at 130 flash per minute. To get a sparkle effect, I'd prefer them to strobe once every 5 or 10 seconds, about a dozen lights spread out over the entire house.

If you just want a single strobe, buy C9 sockets at the home store in the ceiling fan section, then do some splicing and soldering to set it up.

W2000, thank you! I didn't think of separating the bulbs. Great idea there. Yeah, not ready for the controller. Waiting on the sale to happen.
