This year we decided to take a step back from what we have done in the past and our decorations are really limited, but I'm happy with what we have done. It is finally Christmas in my house. :D

There are a few more pics and some closeups of a few special things in my album.

Beautiful, AND tasteful! (but then, that goes without saying, now doesn't it?):):):)

:D Thanks! Trimming back the decor was hard because I had to go through so many boxes to find the pieces I wanted to use. LOL

Very nice Giles! Sometimes cutting back is something you need to do. Looks great!

I really like it Giles. It looks very festive without being presumptuous. You really did a lot with a little, framing just the right parts and then bringing the eye right into the front door. What a beautiful tree, also. I will go look at your album too.

I love all the pics in your album. You have a nutcracker that reminded me of Putrid. LOL

Thanks everyone! I'm happy with the smaller decorating this year. Now as for that nutcracker that reminds JW of Putrid....I can assure you that it was purely coincidental. :D

I had to go check out the accusation again by JW. I believe she may be onto something. idea: So what do you think? I think there is a chance for a celebrity look-alike here. :D Now the big question is this: Is Putrid trying to look like one of my nutcrackers or is my nutcracker trying to impersonate a prominate forum member?

Had to look at your pics Giles. Yep, I think ya'll are right. It's the season. Everyone tries to look like me this time of year. it's the only time of the year everyone thinks I look good. LOL

Really elegant Giles! Even without everything out it still looks warm and inviting.

It looks like it could be in a magazine! I really like the stockings embroidered with your initals. Elegant!

FYI - I found a website that will custom build 11" nutcrackers, including hair & eye color - so if anyone else wants a Putrid Nutcracker.....www.pardeecrafts.com I was looking for one dressed like a constable, or at least with a similar hat so I could repaint it and found this site in my searchings.

Lisa, thanks for the link. That will get filed in my "next year for Christmas" folder cause that is a really cool idea.

Thanks folks.

I remember decorating when I was kid and we always put foil wrapping paper on the front door with a ribbon on it. I hadn't thought of that in years and then I was in Walmart and saw they had a kit that included the wide ribbon and a bow to decorate your door. I was shocked! :)
