Just wanted to give the heads-up on a little known Christmas album that has enriched my life for several years now.

First, a little backstory: I was working one holiday season at The Nature Company in the mall (right as they were being bought by the Discovery Store). This was right around 2001. We had a handful of Christmas CDs that we played over and over and over all through December, one of which was a album full of classical Christmas songs with a Celtic twist. There is something beautiful, and even occasionally haunting, about the melodies that it really gets a strong emotional reaction out of me. It's one of those albums that makes you feel genuinely CONNECTED to Christmas.

The album was titled Celtic Tidings and was done by a guy named Chris Caswell. It's excellent. It is easily in my top 5 of all time and is definitely something unique within the often cookie-cutter landscape of Christmas music.

If anyone's interested:

I listened to the samples and really enjoyed it. I love celtic music anyway. I will probably buy that and it will probably be my new favorite. Thanks for the link.

Oh, wow. Someone actually picked up on this instead of the thread slowly falling into the abyss,

Trust me, the album is incredible. I bought it years ago and gave a copy to my dad, and he still talks about it to this day. The best way I can put it is that the music really speaks to the soul. You will not be disappointed.

You know, I was JUST wondering the other day if anyone had seen this thread and actually bought the album.

It's a very unique Christmas album that's different from pretty much everything else that's out there and personally has a way of putting me in the spirit that few others can match.

BTW, I just noticed that Amazon apparently no longer sells it directly. Wonder what's up with that. But they've got used copies for around $3.
