Hi, I want to make a figure for my yard, that would look like a large ice sculpture. Inside the sculpture would be a motor, and some colored spot lights. The sculpture would rotate, and change colors. However, I don't know what to make the sculpture out of. I first thought of clear resin, but that would get expensive.
Thanks

hmmmmmm....I'mracking my brain for ya here, Pat. syran wrap would have to have a shape under it to hold shape...clear plastic would work if you had access to a vaccuuform machine...

They do sell ice molds that kinda look like ice themselves. What figure are ya looking for?

Thanks for the reply. I thought about vacuum forming, I'd have to build a pretty big vacuum forming table. There are some smaller ornaments at Home Depot and Lowe's that I got the inspiration from. I haven't decided on a figure yet, there are two that I like, ones an angle, ones a ballerina. I'm afraid they might make me look a little queer though. So I might do something a little more neutral, like a tree. Here is a picture of one of the ornaments.http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u184/Pat-f/untitled-1.jpg

I know there is a blowmold of an angel that looks like frozen ice...

Anyone have a pic to one?

Found one:

That's nice, I'll have to do some looking around to see if I can find it in a store.

A nutcracker would be cool if you could find one...

Nutcrackers would be pretty easy to make, because they are rather simple shapes. I'll have to look around for some large sheets of clear plastic.
