Today I was setting up the lights and pulling out the massive army of blow molds from the back of the home and my neighbor walked over. He took one look at all my new yard sale finds and asked if I would like 4 more outlets installed outside to power my new friends. Heck yes!!! So we set up a time on Saturday and will get MORE POWER!!! The best part is its all free he refuses payment except for a plate of my bacon chocolate chip cookies.
See my neighbor is a retired Electrician with alot of gear and wire in his shop to use. Last year he added 4 outlets to the house for Christmas Lights as well and it was amazing. Each outlet has its own breaker with nothing else on it and the new outlets will be the same. My home has a new breaker box with alot of open spaces to play with :)
I am so pumped now I can stop stressing power and go shopping for more lighting :) Anyone else have cool encounters with their neighbors?

I bet Sickie would enjoy a plate of them Bacon Cookies! (and I would appreciate the recipe!) LOL
I, unfortunately have absolutely NO outlets on the outside of my house, but thankfully I will be using all LED's this year. I have to run cords out of sliding windows and doors... Someday I hope to be as lucky as you Mr. G! :D
Did I mention I am extremely JEALOUS! LOL :D

Hey Gris!:)
THAT is great news! What a cool neighbor you have!:)
One of our neighbors brought us a "smoking fountain" a while back. He said "Use it where you can in your display!" Now all I have to do is figure out WHERE I can use it (LOL):):)
I JUST thought of an idea! It could be used in the "Frosty Falls Train Station" as the "smoke" from the chimney!:)

Good idea, Craig.
And YES I would love the recepie to those bacon chocolate chip cookies. I just found Jones put out a limited edition of Bacon soda pop! Can't wait to get me some!
Congrats on the early Christmas present!

Edwin I have a friend that had to do the same thing with extension cords and it would get cold in his house in the winter because of all the windows just having a strip of duct tape on them as they were open a crack.
Craig I dont think I have seen a smoking fountain before. Is it like the misting skulls they have around during Halloween but in a fountain form?
Sickie I can get you the cookie recipe its really good and easy actually.

Mr. G, that is a great story. So often I think we are quick to complain about neighbors and silly things they do, but we forget to share the wonderful stories. Thanks for sharing it.
Ummmm...bacon choc chip cookies has me truly intrigued. Perhaps that recipe could be posted in the food section for us all to see?

I think that is so cool.
My husband and I have a friend who is an electrician and he just spent 3 days over here helping my husband install 6 new electrical outlets around the front yard and a fuse box for them all. I wish we had done that 6 years ago.
I can't say any of my neighbors have ever so much as offered to help me carry huge bags. Nothing. Which is sad because I actually help my neighbors quite a bit.
Thanks for sharing the nice story.

My brother is an electrician and I couldn't get him to install more outlets for me if my life depended on it! Always good to have great neighbors!

Wow, I wish my neighbor was a electrician it would help me from tripping on all the cords outside. My neighbor was a mortician and I don't think I will be wanting any of his services anytime soon!

What a great neighbor! Wish I had some outlets in the front of the house. I have to run cords under the garage door and out a bedroom window if I want to decorate both sides of my yard.
Bacon chocolate chip cookies.....yum! Just saw this mentioned in a magazine, but they didn't have an exact recipe, just to make chocolate chip cookies and sprinkle bacon into them. If you post or have posted a recipe I'm gonna find it and make them for sure!

I am so jealous! All day long working with one outlet in the front, one in the back and running cords under the gagrage door all I could think about was wishing my neighbor was an electrician lol!

HAHAHA dont feel jealous Dave I have an electrician nearby but my plumbing went bad this weekend and I had to fix it wishing I had a plumber neighbor!
I am super excited we put these outlets in directly in front of the house where the blow molds and fabrics will be displayed. I really am in a state of thought wondering what all I should buy now since there is so much power readily available.

I am jealous you have a NICE neighbor! Dont care about the skills - any of that can be learned. Some have serious issues with just being "neighborly" though, courtesy is an unknown. And it sounds like you have a great neighbor :) Count your blessings - believe me!

I want your neighbor and your cookies!
I live next door to a general contractor and a friend of his who has just lost his job, installed a new air conditioning unit for our downstairs. Charged me less than the guy who did the upstairs unit and I thought that was a great deal. We've replaced two units this year for half of what I was quoted two years ago from a 'yellow pages' repair guy.
I'm pretty sure he can hook me up with an electrician, you'd better publish the recipe for those cookies so I can get crackin.
