Went to Garden Ridge and they did not have the nativity set in blow mold this year. Found them on line with just the three figures of Mary Joseph and Baby Jesus. They had them in just unpainted white (marble look, which they do look pretty good lit up) and painted. Unpainted was $76.99 and Painted was $92.99.
This is what I currently have: the large Santa is the one I found at Goodwill for $6.99:

The rest were purchased in Tampa 16 or more years ago when we lived there.
Here's the link to the Nativity sets - what do you guys think...painted or unpainted $76.99 or $92.99? The painted version is on the second page, the painted version on the first page is $120 because they are bigger. Maybe I'll go for the bigger ones, that is in line with what Garden Ridge was asking for them last year.

Totally cool collection! Are you going to stick a light in the spray bottle as well. JK LOL
Nativity sets. If you not going to paint them yourself I'd go with the painted ones. IMO they look better.

I believe if it were me I would pay the extra for the painted. You couldn't buy the paint and supplies for what the difference is. Not to mention you can use the time that it would take to paint them to work on any other projects you may have.

Thanks. I might go with the bigger ones. I'll sleep on it.
I just put a new coat of red paint on the older little Santa and it came out pretty good. Now to touch up the yellow ribbon and the jingle bell in his cap.

Well, I could hit that spray bottle with a shot of fusion paint, what color do you like? Green, red, yellow or tan?

I love the molds Nevergoback especially the candy canes! I actually have a painted 36 inch Empire Nativity Set that I am not using if you are seriously seeking one I can make you a great deal just PM me. Unless you want brand new then I say go for the painted versions for sure.

I love those molds! (16 years old? They look new!):)
I would have to agree with Putrid on the painted version of the nativity set. Just my personal take on it is all.:)

Nevergoback, I think you can get things a bit cheaper AND free shipping at this link,
blow molds and stuff at Home Depot (http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Navigation?storeId=10051&categoryID=530302&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&cm_sp=decor-_-christmas_decorations-_-visual_navigation-_-yard_decorations&locStoreNum=3025&marketID=109)

Purely from a financial point of view, paint is expensive. Great for a hobby, but when doing lots of painting such as a nativity (if you go that route), time + paint = $
In my own view, save yourself the frustration and get the painted if you are looking for color.

Very nice collection. I wish I had the blow molds from when I was a kid in the 70's. I remember a small (maybe 18") Santa that was always my job to plug in each night. We also had two of the Noel Candles that used to sit at the foot of the stairs to teh front porch. I'm not sure what happened to them. Might have to ask my brother if he remembers where they went to when my parents moved into the new home.

If I was an hour away from Bronners I'd be broke + divorced. I just got the bigger nativity set (like Mr. Griswold's family heirloom set) delivered Saturday FedEx ground from Bronners. I love them!

Well you talked me into it, I ordered two snowmen and they came yesterday! I'm going to put ceiling fan size led's in them as they cast a bluish light which looks really good inside the snowmen.
I can't take pictures until the weekend, it's too dark when I get home from work now. I'll line them all up in the yard again and you'll see my 'excellent' paint job on little Santa. He, he, the drips are all in the back.

There's another place here, even closer to me, called Canterbury Village - the same type of place! A huge Christmas store and a bunch of smaller shops in the Village. I hadn't noticed if they have blowmolds, tho.....

My family is growing. As promised here is a picture of my growing family of blow molds. Also you can see the touch up paint job on little Santa, I painted the red all over, the candy cane, the ribbon on the candy cane and the bell on his stocking cap...and his mittens. Yellow and green were Valspar the rest was Fusion.
