Their message was short: Simplify the way we spell words.

Hoo-boy. Those people need a hobby--like building Christmas or Halloween props.
I bet any one of them threw a fit if their name was spelled wrong in the newspaper.

Sorry Grinch, but I have to agree with them. I don't understand why we have kept an archaic language around for so long. I am a great speller, and it has always come easily to me. But I have never understood the rules associated with spelling especially since most of them don't apply half the time. Why have rules if they aren't used consistently? And our language is adopted from so many different languages that it is difficult to figure out when a rule applies or when it is just spelled stupidly. Why have letters in a word that aren't pronounced? Our language makes no sense at all. And it is very difficult to learn. What is wrong with simplifying it? Especially if it helps people communicate more bedder! :)

The Spanish language makes more sense grammatically. It would be easier for everyone to just learn that. It'll be the official U.S. language soon anyway. :)
America spells cheese K-R-A-F-T.

..and don't forget B. S. That covers a lot of things. LOL
I can't spell worth a .... but I'm totally against any ideas of simplifying our language. Our language reflects the melting pot heritage of this country. You spell spaghetti not spaggety because it's Italian and reflects our contribution to this country. All anyone has to do is look at the ridiculous lengths the French go to keep their language pure.
