I served, but I didn't see much combat on the submarine.
My Dad's a WWII Veteran (Disabled). He's 85 and still going strong.

My Dad was in Germany, but after the war during the "police" action.

Really? That's where my Dad got hurt. He stepped on a German land mine and it blew off his left foot.
He got the Purple Heart medal for that.

Our uncle was wounded in WWII. My husband served during Desert Storm. He was a B52 bomb nav (AF) flying out of spain and dropping bombs on the bad guys. I served in the AF, my father was navy, and my mother and brother were both marines.

Thanks, Whisper. He's used to it, but I wish he could get a better prosthetic device.
He goes to the VA hospital for them, but the VA seems to be stuck in the 1930's as far as prosthetics go.
I think I could make something in my garage more comfortable than what they give him.
But if I did, he wouldn't wear it. He's kind of stubborn that way. LOL
