I'm thinking of holding a Decker M&T in a few months when we get moved and settled in our new house. Is anyone here close to the South Suburbs of Illinois?

Of course you know I was kidding...I DO know where Ill is. I lived in Rantoul for a very short time while in tech school at Chanute AFB. Damn it gets cold there!!!!!! I got frost bite in one of my hands during a blizzard the day I got there. Funny story.
I too am a bit far away. But the offer is much appreciated. It would be great fun. It is 900 miles and about 15 hours.

I'd come, but Google maps says I have to drive through Dallas to get there, and that's a deal breaker, sorry.

Can't you take the loop that goes around it NGB?

Well, if Edwin and I started out over Hoover Dam to the I-40, head east to Williams, we can pick up Craig, and continue on I-40 to Oklahoma City. Then we venture up the I-35 and head northeast to Kansas City.We grab the I-70 there and go east to Putrid in Warrenton.Back on the the I-70 through St. Louis where we find the I-55.Take that north to Joliet, where we get on the I-80. A few miles then, south on the I-57 toward Park Forest. Which I hope is fairly close to where you are ,as by then I will have to pee real bad.......

Cool Nephew Fred! We could stop at that cool rest area just north of Funks Grove on I-55. They have bathrooms there. LOL
Just Whisper, you can always drive up to my place and we'll hitch a ride together.

JW,
I had thought about it, but couldn't figure how to get to Florida......
It is part of the United States ,isn't it?
Of course, If we are going all that way,we'll just head on over to Disney World.
Sorry, Mickey trumps Sickie. LOL

wow just checked online, it would take me 32 hours to drive there... Sickie, mabe you could hold a video conference online so everyone could "meet" and work on a project without traveling for hours (or days lol). That might work... mabe have one every month or 2. You could even post a list of suplies and what the project would be on the forum here so everyone knows in advance.... Just an idea think:idea:

A good idea in theory CB, however it is a losing battle just to get everyone together at the same time for chat. LOL

They do that over at the Halloween forum. I don't remember exactly how, but it is not like a video conference type thing. I think a parts list is provided and then the instructor posts directions. Everyone builds their prop, following the directions and posts as they go along. They can ask for help if needed. I think the instructor posts a little more instructions each day, until it is done. But I may be wrong.

You're right, Whisper. That's the Prop Building Group in the tutorial section. There are two threads for each project-one for the Instructor and one for Students. That way the questions don't interfere with the tutorial itself.
I instructed the first project last year. It was the "Tombstone Peeper".
Lots of fun!

I joined one of those but never built. It sounded like a great idea and everyone seemed to be enjoying it.
