Just a quick word. Even when you think you're doing everything right.
Apparently there are services like "Bill Me Later" that to open an account only require the last 4 digits of your social security number and your birthdate. Well guess what! That's the exact information that is provided on the paperwork you receive from the Social Security Administration reporting the benefits you've earned. Our mail was stolen on Halloween (have I mentioned I hate Halloween?) and now we're pretty sure the SSA paperwork for my wife was part of it.
