for the first time ever, I've had it for 2 years and for whatever reason had just not taken it out to use. Let me just say what a great prop! I love the fact that if you use our own sound source it continues to use all it's movements. I've seen other props that stop all or some motion if you don't use the built in track but this one keeps moving it's head and ears, nice! Now all I need to do is come up with a sound track, hang it, put a santa cap on it and lights in the antlers and bam! just like the talking animal heads at Country Bear Jamboree at DLand during XMAS!

I wonder how it would look on a deer frame body, with a lit red nose?

That would talk a lot of imagineering since it's mounted like a trophy and the "wood" part of the mount looks to house a lot of the electronics, wiring, and all of the connections plug in there. The way the deer head is attached with the motors and such...that would be more than I would want to tackle with a "new" prop.

Understandable. If anyone does want to do a twist on it, here's a way to do a talking buck deer hack: http://www.unpleasantstreet.com/index.php?x=projects/2006/deer_head&y=main

Hey SIckie ...I love that that version on unpleasantstreet......thought about actually disecting my Bucky & doing that but man he cost to much mulla!!
MrDec25......I do the same w/ my Bucky. He looked so festive sitting above my singing Santa last year...I gave him a red santa cap, & I cut a wreath in half at the bottom & stuck that around his neck, its cute the wreath has apples on it, also hung one of those big red xmas bows at the base of the wreath.... looked very cute!!

I'm with you Mistress on the issue of it's a little bit more of a costly "prop" to start hacking! Unlike the $1.39 Talk Thru Boris's I scored at Kmart a couple weeks ago and not that I want to waste a Boris either. Just if you do...$1.39's a lot easier to eat if you ruin one than what the Buck costs!
