Meet The Pets

With the sad passing of Pizmar I thought it might be nice to share what
pet(s) the Deckers have.

We have two dogs. A 5-1/2 year old female Australian Shepherd - Meira (Registered name is Heartfires Moonlight Serenade). And a 6 year old female Boston Terrier - Lucy. We got both as puppies so they've grown up together.

We have had an Aussie ever since we bought our first house in 1985. Our first, Meggie, lived to be 14. Our second was a rescue. She had cancer, but we did manage to have her around for 5 years. After her passing we decided to go the puppy route again.

I have a boxer thats 2 years old and doesn't stop climbing the fence lol:). I think she needs a budy!idea:

I have a white snake (Leucistic Texas Rat Snake)

and Harry, our gray 6 year old outdoor loving neutered cat found as a stray kitten.

We have "Chloe" below is a recent pic of her wondering just "what the HECK is Dad doing?" She is an 11 month old Great Pyrenese (translated: HORSE!) She is VERY affectionate (translated: You will DROWN is slobbers!) very active BUT once the Christmas decorations went up in the house, she calmed right down..... Methinks the lady doth realize the wrath of Mark would be GREAT indeed!:):):)

She in no WAY replaces Pizmar, but she is herself, a great joy.

Okay, I went and did a head count. According to the amount of fur on our furniture I apparently have about 18 cats. LOL These are our four beasties. Talk about being ignored, they are the champions of ignore. But they love us...when we are feeding them. And they love to be petted...by the cardboard box or sofa they are rubbing up against. And they love to have their face rubbed all over...your stinkiest shoes. Cats... You gotta love em'.

This is Paul Tyler, about 7 mo old. He is our newest addition. We took him in as a foster cat and fell in love with him. We never gave him back. LOL

Here is BabyCat. About 7 yrs old and she is my darling. She does not care for anyone else much. She is wearing her mad face in this picture. It is her most popular face. We rescued her from a junk yard as a kitten.

This one is Saki, my daughter's cat. She is very overweight and loves to romp across your stomach at 5 in the morning (the cat, not my daughter). She is about 5 yrs old. Someone gave her to us as a kitten. She is quite sweet when she wants to be.

Last but not least is Kioko. He is my son's cat. Kioko is about 4 yrs old and my sister found him inside her engine compartment. Apparently he had ridden it all the way home from somewhere...man is he lucky. We took him in. He hates Paul with a vengeance. It must be a guy thing. Overall he is a sweet cat.

We also have 4 rabbits. No pics because they just look like rabbits. They are named Mr Bigalow, Piper, Xypher, and Annabelle Lee.

Oh yeah, and bunches of fish in 2 aquariums and 2 ponds.

love seeing the pics of every ones pets! we have some very beautiful pets!!
well, here are my four spoiled babies, the bed is not made, cuz that would mean moving the kitties! I don't know if you can tell but the orangey ones are manx. I just learned tonight on animal planet that Toby, the peach one,who has no tail at all, is called a rumpie, and Henry, who has about a 1 1/2 inch tail is called a stumpy. I love to rub Tobys' rear, no tail to get in the way, just a small tuft of fur !! the others are Joey, the white one, and the best guy every, he is so friendly , love absolutely every one, if one of you guys came over, with in 5 minutes you couldn't get rid of him, he would be right there! and the lone girl, Jessie,the grey tortie, who is sweet with a attitude, but with 3 brothers to keep in line, whats a girl to do? I am not sure how these pics are, but am giving them a shot, the one of the white one by himself, is Joey while I am talking on here to you guys, always next to me on the computer, have gotten him to lay besides the screen(finally) instead of in front!
I also have a painted turtle named Simon, who we though was a boy, turns out, she's not, it is amazing how social she is, she watches every thing, eats from my hand, is a silly creature, but interesting,
I just recently lost my cockatiel of 22 years, my little Freddy bird. miss him alot- I haven't stopped looking at the spot he had his cage, I still walk by the area and want to say something . very hard.

Bethene, I have said it before and I will say it again. Your kitties are adorable and gorgeous. I am so jealous that they like each other and even sleep together. My cats tolerate each other at best. We never have any kind of normal cats that like to be held, or petted, or play with each other without it involving trying to kill each other. We love them anyway.

I am so glad everyone is sharing pics of their pets. I love seeing all your beautiful little friends.

thanks , every one, for the most part they get along fabulous, but once in a while, Jessie, the grey girl, gets pissed off , especially at Joey, the white one, and no one know why, she will just get mad and start swinging~~it is funny!

Heheh yup, thats Zeus. Hes a german shepherd with a plush coat rather than the standard coat. German shepherds carry the long coat recessive gene, and he happened to get it. :) Hes a brilliant boy, well behaved and of course as you can tell, likes to sit at the table. *sigh* wish he was still little tho :( They grow up way to fast. Hes about 12 weeks old in that pic.

this is my daughter's dog, Lady. She's an over-weight Yellow lab/ golden retriever mix. Sweetest dog I've ever known. :)
And a pic of a cat, missy, that has been hanging around my house for 8 years that we feed every day and take to the vet once a year. technically, I guess, she belongs to us. But she was abandoned by former neighbors. She is the sweetest cat I've ever known.
(Don't get me started on how wonderful my German Shepherd is! LOL)

Aww thank you Ellen. Bailey is a gorgeous senior, she looks like she's a big cuddle bug. Thank you for taking her in, she looks like shes enjoying her golden yrs. Gauranteed you're her heart to :) The nature of this breed.

She doesn't like for anyone else to hold her, and she is not much for being petted. She will NEVER ever sit in anyone's lap, even mine. So I have to admit my feelings were a bit hurt when she curled up in Mrs Claus' lap and went to sleep for about an hour. She stayed there even when I was shaking and wobbling the swing around while working on it. She didn't even get mad when I put Mrs Claus hand on her back. The one on her butt was already there as she curled into it. Cats...go figure.

What is truly amazing is this: No matter that she is HUGE (and still a teenager at heart), when she sees Christmas decorations in the house, she is veeeeerrrrry careful not to break anything. LOL the only thing she hasn't remembered yet is that being so big, she has a big butt, and she can bump into things by backing up, or turning around.:) All in all though, she is a sweetheart.:):):)

While looking for Augie & Ziggy pics I came across pics of our old man, Bubbie, that we had to put to sleep 2 years ago. This was from when he thought he'd "help" the concrete guy do our carport.:) He just walked right through the wet cement because it looked just like a solid surface. The concrete guy was still around so we didn't have kitty paw prints 3 inches deep in the carport. He was supposed to call us & let us know he was coming so we could have all the kids inside to prevent such things but he didn't so technically it was his fault. Thankfully getting it off wasn't difficult, just a minute or 2 in the sink & he didn't fight much.:):)

No pics yet, but the new additions to the household are a couple of STINKERS! (LOL) Xander (RIP) and Vanilla learned early on to NEVER set foot in the kitchen! (Ok, you can walk through, but that's it!) Well, the new kids on the block almost live in the kitchen, and LOVE to jump up on the counter, the stove, and climb around in the cupboards! And one of them even took a big ol "Pee Pee" on my roommate's bed!... While it is humorous, it is getting annoying trying to teach them the rules of the house. Oh, and their names are "Buddy" and "Lucy Lou". :D I still love them, none the less. :D

Hey Everyone!:):):)

Here is a pic of our new little guy! I got an e-mail this morning from adoptapet.com that he was in Sedona Pet Shelter (an hour and a half away) after calling to confirm they still had him, Mark and I jumped into the car and got there as quickly as we could (ain't he just BEAUTIFUL? - Naw, I'm not the least BIT excited, yeah, RIGHT!):):):)

Still have to name him yet (I am a firm believer in letting them name themselves, I am SURE one will come up soon, though)

We have decided his name is Willy (for will-o-the-wisp) He can hide so well that no matter HOW much you look, you are not going to find him! (like right now, I have NO idea where he is) he will be just fine in a day or so. CHLOE, on the other hand is beside herself because we won't let her meet him just yet. He needs to feel a little more secure before he meets that gigantic slobbering teddybear:)

Well, this morning, he "helped" me make the bed (as in, was in the way, every STEP of the way, LOL) He is a very chatty kitty, and just LOVES his pets. He would sit there all day and let you pet him, if you would. Getting braver by the day.:)

Here is a pic of Willy laying in the middle of the bed AFTER he "helped" make it up (I think I caught him in mid-blink) Just so you know, this is a queen size bed he is laying on.... Yeah, he is a big boy.....:)
