Wow! Thursday in SoCal it's suppose to be in the 60s with some rain. Actual fall-like weather. The question is will it happen. Oh well. In the 80s tomorrow. :(

75 degrees and in the middle of a hurricane currently. Well, not quite. It has been downgraded to a tropical storm now and hope it will be a depression by morning. But it is windy and raining.

heheh definitely not swimming pool weather, but thats ok, we're all heading to Edwins for a dip! BUT it does kill all the nasty germs in the air. Getting crisp in the mornings thats for sure. As long as theres no snow, I'm a happy camper. Winter is way to long when it comes early.

Here is Edmonton, Alberta, CanaDUH! Where temps plummet to -25F I get the sniffles 6 times a yr, pneumonia twice a yr, I have to buy stock in kleenex, sleep in woolies and drive a ski doo to the store. Its a good thing we have free healthcare. lol No I'm kidding, its not that bad. (still sucks tho)

Well, my front yard is flooded, the street is flooded, my ponds have all overflowed into the yard (hope my fish don't swim away as they have done before...LOL), my pool is way topped off, and it is still pouring down rain. I love a rainy night. But we do have our windows open and the temps are great. Hurricanes are okay with me.

I can't remember the last time it rained out here! Even when it does rain, it never rains at the airport so it doesn't count.... Yep major drought!

We were amazed with how quiet it was. We drove across the ridge and it was a little surreal looking east, seeing the river and all the markers where soldiers fell.

It's a place I definitely would like to visit once more in my lifetime.

They built a fort years ago and it just sits empty? Looks really cool from the interstate!

Its nice. Small town. We are just over an hour away from Vail and Aspen if you have ever been to those places. Our climate is more high desert as we are the same distance from Utah the other direction.

We're hanging in the 50s (the 30s) at night. It feels like the holidays.

Me too Sickie. My commute runs a long side the Colorado river so add dense fog (due to the minus temps) to the black ice mix and oh joy :mad:

Skully your house looks so cute with the snow. It really finishes the whole storybook look.

I am not complaining, I would rather have it warm than cold. But it is 72 already at 9 oclock this morning, and the humidity is awful. I feel like someone is sitting on my lungs right now since I have all the windows open. But again, I prefer it that way to the temps in the 30's and below. I hate that feeling of pain you get in your nose when you snort up a big lungful of freezing air. Snow is beautiful, so keep those pics coming. I will enjoy looking at yours. LOL

It's been wet here for a week now. At the moment, it's just below freezing with high winds and it's supposed to get colder. I wish it would snow or dry up or something! All it does is rain and then freeze. It stays muddy all winter in my neck of the woods.

beautiful pics, skully, I don't have the icicles yet, but am sure they are coming! we had the freezing rain last night, windy all day with snow , but , as the weather man says "the lake effect snow machine is getting cranked up " we are to have 8 - 12 inches over night(on top of what we got today, and the ice) and more during the day tomorrow. and 7 degrees out with wind chill -15, to -20, burrrrr. I wish I could go visit JW!

I can relate to that storm. We just had one ourselves. Your icicles are gorgeous, however, thats a sign of some serious heat loss. I think I would much rather have the ones people have been making out of hot glue lol

I remember plucking icicles like that off of the roof and licking them. Not very sanitary I know, but I was a kid... Ah the good ol' days!

Those are some crazy, scary icicles. But beautiful also. I love these pictures. Don't think for a moment you are boring us. Some of us never see this kind of weather (thank you God) so it is fun to see yours.

Bethene, pack your bag and come on down. Although it went from 76 yesterday to a nippy 43 today with winds and light rain off and on all week. The temps really jump around here all winter.

Yeah I know...the house is 112 years old. I'm slowly making it more energy efficient.

For real? I would NEVER have guessed it to be 112 yrs old. Its in very nice condition. Very, very nice.

The original millwork porch columns and rails are long gone. The owner prior to me put in the timbers. I did all the landscaping and have been working on interior remodel for 4 years now. It is alot of work but I love old houses. This one is walking distance to everything.

Your man cave looks awesome, what an improvement. The house.... WOW! Amazing how a colour change can make it look so much newer. The shingles look like you have replaced those as well? Awesome colour choice for it, its like a doll house. Really like that you chose to add the railing on the front, that totally finishes that off. (love your sign on the man cave lol ) Of course the greenery out front is always nice compared to the rock look. Def looks more lived in a homey with what you have done. Its very nice Skully, thank you for sharing these :) I enjoyed looking at them. OH! Also forgot to mention, I love the detail up top by the window, gorgeous touch.

Yesterday was fun. First we had a white out in the morning, then it turned to rain, then the sun came out and it was sunny and warm, then the snow started again. Tons of ice on the roads today after the two hour melt down. Cold and snowing right now.

Perfect weather right now. Wednesday was wet and chilly. The perfect setting for visiting with family. Today is dry and in the 60s. Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the mid 70s.

For me once the holidays are over I'm done with wanting the cold weather. I can now spend all weekend getting the backyard and the garden back in shape. TIme for some rock 'n roll!!!!

It'll be colder today that it has been in years here. A high of 15 and a low down to 3. It's not as bad as you think Just Whisper. You bundle up a bit for it and don't plan on staying out for hours on end. Your body gets used to it and adjusts.

I never got use to it Putrid. I just hate cold weather. I am a beach baby. That is why I moved down south to retire. And go figure...it is 25 degrees today. :confused: I skipped out on the hockey game last night because I didn't want to go out in the cold and wind. I may brave it tonight.

Yes, but it isn't freezing cold and no wind. In fact some nights it is pretty darn warm in there. I have to walk a long ways from the parking lot to the arena also so I didn't want to do that last night. I am a sissy.

Got down to -2 last night. But it's going to warm up to normal and above! Long range forecast has us in the 40's by mid week. Looking forward to being able to go outside wearing a T-shirt instead of bundling up all the time.

Our weather's up and down as usual. 35C (95F) today and tomorrow, but storms on Sunday and we'll be cold again at 25C (77C) for a few days - just in time for the start of the kid's swimming lessons. They're always blue by the time they get out!

Rather be trying to keep cool than digging stuff out of the snow though. I've only seen snow a couple of times in my life.

Yep, I'm well below the equator but I'm also not much above sea level. I live on an enormous plain. When my daughter was little we took her up to Sydney to visit her Nan and when we went over the first hill she screamed. :)

My winter temps are generally around 12C (54F) during the day and no lower that -6C (21F) at night.

So while I'll be complaining about being frozen I know I won't get any sympathy from you guys!:snowflake:

BTW it's a fantastic day here today. Mild, with a storm brewing. I've been able to tidy up my fruit trees and clear out some weeds. Lovely to work in the garden when it isn't too hot.

I have certainly justified it this year. I live out in the country and we lose power occasionaly but usually for only several hours. The longer you are without power the more things you feel you need. I got into the breaker box today and connected the hot water heater to the standby generator. It was nice to get a hot shower this afternoon. We have been without power since Saturday at 1:00 PM. There are still 10,000 customers in my area without power and another 8 inches of wet snow forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday so it may be a while before power restored. I will put up with these inconviences to be able to live in the country.

Got about 5 inches of snow last night. Then today 20 mph winds and looked like it was snowing all over again.

We have now set a total snowfall record for the year. We have gotten 54 inches of snow this winter. Also set a record with 28 days of measurable snow on the ground. This is in an area that has an average of 17 inches of snow each winter.

Finally got power back this evening. Power had been out since 1:00 PM on Saturday.
