That is my question.
Do you do it? Do you find it rude? Have you ever caught someone re-gifting back to you?

We have done it in the past, only becuase it was a situation where it would never be found out.
We have never noticed if someone has done it to us.

Personally, I don't care if someone regifts mine. Well, maybe a little, but it's more important to me that the joy gets passed on if it isn't at home where it is.

Years ago, some friends re-used a gift bag to give a present to us. They forgot to take off the tag with their name on it! It has become a running joke and that bag gets passed around to different friends every year with the tag still on it!
I do not have a problem with re-gifting but I do have a tip... put a removable tag on the gift so you remember who it was from... and don't forget to remove the tag!

I always save and re-use my gift bags and ribbons! Most of them are just too pretty to throw away!
I have re-gifted too, but I would be more likely to give a present like that to charity.
I can't be 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure that we gave a birthday toy to my daughters friend, and got it back about a month later for my daughters birthday! It was the exact same gift, so either we picked a great gift that they liked so much that they wanted to give more to others, or it was a re-gift! I really don't mind either way. My daughter liked it!

Regifting is fine as long as you don't get caught. I rather give a regift to someone who would use it more than me.

I agree it's okay to do it if careful. We get stuff we can't use all the time, so I think it's better to find a home for it than just let it sit in the closet. We keep a drawer full of this stuff for emergency gifts.
I've been to parties at work and with friends where the idea was to bring gifts you don't like, and you exchange them. The last party I went to like that, I ended up with a "Chieftans" CD. It's in the emergency drawer. :-)

I regift nice gifts that I don't really want. I can always remember who gave it to me so I am very careful that they never find out or get it. If it's a family member, I'll usually give it to somebody at work, vice versa.

Not a problem unless someone comes over and asks where it is.

Have you ever had anyone do that, Sickie?
I haven't, thankfully! And could always say the kids broke it, anyway! :D

I haven't had anyone do that, either. Right now I can always say it is packed away because we are trying to finish the upstairs so a lot of things are still in boxes.
