I was just thinking that Christmas and Halloween are just around the corner!!! I still have lots to do!!! I'm getting excited and nerves at the same time. Anybody feeling the same way?

I am getting a bit nervous too. So many projects to work on, but I just haven't taken the time. Hopefully I will in the next couple of weeks.

I have so much stuff to go through, boxes and boxes of stuff that I have in my storage unit. Will have to start pulling that stuff out soon to see what I have. I bought a bunch of stuff after Halloween last year and forgot most of what I have... Same with Christmas.

Wishing I had the money to do anything. (sigh) The last couple years have been pretty crappy as far as decorating goes.

Yea, I feel like I'm way behind too. Haven't got much done over the summer with the kids home all day.
I've got a whole list of projects, just not a lot of time to work on them. Plus the fact I can't just start one project and finish it--I always have 2 or 3 going at once.
Sorry about your $$$ situation, Sickie. I guess everyone's feeling that pinch right now!
Right now I'm painting a new Halloween themed see-saw board to go on my Christmas Teeter-Totter mechanism. I'll put two skeletons on it once I finish it.

Will they roll down the Teeter or the Totter EG?

I probably won't have anything rolling on the see-saw.
I'll be lucky just to get the basic prop finished at the rate I'm going!

I have to make a teeter totter, double swing, merry-go-round and rocking horse. Just for one scene. I am hoping most of it will be fairly simple. Of course what I see in my mind is never how it actually comes off in the end. LOL And I still need to figure out how to make four or five small simple non-animated elves before Christmas. The bodies are no problem. Just need to find a simple way to make heads.

The projects pile up and the energy winds down.....
Not very motivated this year.
It will probably hit me Sept 1st, then I'll rush like mad to finish

JW. I used wig holders for my heads. They came out ok, just real happy with them. I still need to add ears. I'm stumped on them though....

Nephew, I'm hearing a lot of the same sentiment lately. I think the downturn of the economy has played with people's emotions as well.

Dano, that is what I used last year for the elves in my Santa's workshop. I was looking for something easier. These are for little elves, about the size of a 2-4 yr old child, so the wig forms are too big. I have to sand each one down to size, then paint them. It was quite time consuming. And I need quite a few. I will resort to that if I have to again, but am still looking for an easier way out. LOL Thanks for the suggestion though.

I am a bit sad just moved house two months ago and have just unpacked the box with all the christmas decorations to check what I have and all of my lovely glass balls that i inherited from my mom are broken. I loved my glass balls and always felt verysuperior when i looked at my friends cheap old plastic ones! does anybody know it they still make glass balls as i haven't managed to find any where i live

Katie sorry to hear about your glass balls. Can they be glued back together?

I know what ya mean about glass ball ornaments. We have some my dad bought when he was 10 years old for some ugly tree that his parents where too cheap and well they were losers to him really so he takes his last few bucks and buys some ornaments that glow in the dark and the coating on them are started to fall off but we hang them ever single year since we found them and he had thought his parents threw them away (again they were losers drunks and gamblers lost the boat two cars and the title of the house once i dunno how they got the house title back but...) Christmas when my dad was young was horrible really i have more stories but...Not too upbeat and pictures of how depressing but thats another story for another time. But those ornaments meant the world to him i heard about them for years and years and when we found them it was priceless. Its the small stuff you know? Sorry to hear yours got broken.

On a happier note I FOUND ANOTHER DJ TRIPOD! in storage sunday. So i can make another mini mega tree this year! What color should i do i already have a green and red what about blue. Time to start with the zip ties again. 600 zip ties can drive sombody MAD!!!! Well atleast its 6 and not 1200 this year :)

Katie, have you tried Ebay? You may be able to find the exact kind to replace.

Whisper, you might try E-bay for some of those child size Bratz fashion heads. They have hair for styling and jewelry. etc. I used one last year to make my little girl "witch in training".
Might not work for the "boy" elves, though!

Christmas lights, I am so so sad to hear about your glass ornaments getting broken. Even if you can replace them, they won't be the ones your mom had. I have several glass ornaments from when I was a child, I would miss them if they broke.
E-Bay is a good idea, as sickie suggested. We sell lots and lots of glass ornaments here in the states. You can probably find really pretty ones all over the internet. Just type in glass christmas ornaments in the search box....

Grinch, what a great idea. I actually already have 3 or 4 Bratz doll heads as I have been collecting them. I had no idea what I would use them for but knew one day I would need them. LOL I have been getting them for $2-$5 at thrift shops.

I found the elves like Chris has online, but they are quite expensive if I want to buy 6 or 8 of them. So I will stat with the Bratz I have and keep looking for more. Thanks for suggestions, all.

You bet it's time. I've been building Halloween props since April, and my Christmas prop building starts November 1st. Gingerbread house facade with candy decorations.

I just don't know where I'll be storing all this stuff...!

I DIDN'T SEE santa clause but i was shopping at Sam's warehouse here in dallas tonight and they had four christmas trees set up all lighted and decorated and alongside the little area where the trees were set up was an aisle of christmas ornaments..i've been eagerly waiting for that first sighting but thought that i probably wouldn't see anything in the stores till a bit later in october or early neovember.. here i am a 50 year old man and yet i walked excitedly over to my parents nearby and excitedly claim "hey look over here" as i lead them to the area and pointed at it...yeah my parents think i'm nuts...they just looked at me and my mother said.."yeah,uh huh" then they just went calmy about their shopping.but after seeing that now i'm ready to hear "here comes santy clause".

i'll always be a finatic..always was,always will be..

I know what you mean! I've been trying to come up with ideas to get my desired Halloween costume and what I'm gong to give people for Christmas... Finals seem just around the corner and so now I'm kinda stressed about school and gifts. I just want Christmas to get here already so I can be relieved by the lights and fuzzies!
