Cool Sickie Ickie. Get ya a job where you have to dress formal all the time and you could wear them all year long.

Anything I can come by LOL. Been collecting figural and antique ornaments for years. And Christmas music. 40's 50's and 60's as well as Classical and Jazz.

I have two pair of Christmas underwear. But no way I'd post a pic of them.. LOL

I use to collect those St Nick dolls, you know the ones made on a plastic cone then dressed in old fashioned clothes with ceramic head, etc. I quit because my house is never clean enough at Christmas to display them, so it was a waste of storage space. But i still love looking at them in the stores.

I collect nutcrackers. I've used to collect Snowbabies, but now have too many and need to get rid of some. I've always wanted snowglobes, but have never gotten any. This Christmas I received two! I also buy an ornament from where ever I travel.

Have you seen the Nutcracker Museum? They display over 5,000 nutcrackers originating from over 40 countries, and it's on-line here: http://www.nutcrackermuseum.com/index.html

I collect nutcrackers too. Although I haven't bought any for the past 2 years but have got a couple given to me as gifts. Way to many in my collection now!

Thanks for the link to the Museum, I'll have to check that out.

Can't wait to see more Zippo!

How many do ya have now, Val?

Val

Too Many! I haven't counted all of them but I'd estimate somewhere around 50 of them. The majority are 16" tall so they do take up some room. The unpacking, setting them out and then dusting them off and packing them up again has become a time consuming job. I wish I had room to leave them out somewhere. My daughter, son and nephews tell me every year which ones I should Will to them!!! LOL

Val - I think I maybe only bought two of my nutcrackers. The rest have been given to me. Luckily we have a post and beam house (all exposed beams) so I have lots of places to display my collection. My mom has gotten me some really expensive German ones, and she's now started to buy my German smokers.

I have 2 or 3 of the smokers... they are cool. I don't want to say anything else about them so you can tell Sickie about them.

I've gotten quite a few of the Steinbach's as gifts but only from my hubby. When I started collecting them 15-20 years ago I would have to save up for a long time to buy a Steinbach or a Ulbricht. The limited editions are just to pricy to expect as a gift.... at least in my family! lol I do have a number of the not so pricey ones that have been given to me by friends or nephews or my kids. I like em all! Well, except for maybe the Homer Simpson nutcracker. He's just a bit to weird looking to be a nutcracker! In fact he's just down right scary to even look at!!! Homer should not be a nutcracker!

Whisper and sickie my Homer is packed away, I only get him out when I know the person who gave it to me is coming by. Awful aren't I but I just can't bare to have to look at him everyday for over a month. I did find a picture of one on the net so you can see him. He is not exactly like the one I have but you'll get the idea. Okay, now take a look at those bulging eye balls and OMG!!! Those teeth. If you can imagine the mouth opening and closing it get's even worse! Is that not something you might see in a nightmare???? He is just plain creepy IMO! I suppose I could leave him out but then I'd have to put something over his head. I have toyed with the idea of making a little reapers cape for him and setting him out for Halloween.... he might be tolerable then!

Yikes! Homer certainly looks scary! I sure wouldn't want him.

My mom is the only one who buys me the expensive nutcrackers (and now smokers). She's just that way. I have a German nutcracker that my SIL gave me. Her sister got it in Germany while her husband was stationed there. It wasn't a Steinbach or anything but it's a true German nutcracker.

Here is a pic of a smoker:

They are made of wood like the nutcrackers, but you put a little incense tablet thingy in them and they "smoke". The smoke comes out of their mouth.

I'd love to have pyramids and a cuckoo clock, too. My mom also gave me a German music box. I just looked them up and I certainly hope she got it on sale or something. They are frigging expensive!!!! I think I need to have a talk with her.
