Has anyone else noticed that it seems to be more common that people have Halloween lights up?
Orange and purple are common for this year I saw.
What are people's opinions of this?

I haven't seen any. I've been looking for orange C9s to change out my strands to all orange and I can't find any.

Lots and lots of them in my area. Halloween is getting more and more fashionable around here. Since I decorate in such a BIG way, my neighbors have all started putting up small displays. A lot of them use the purple and orange lights as well. I see lots of houses with just the lights. I like it. I don't care what you put up for Halloween, I am just glad to see people doing it. I get so tired of hearing people say we are satanists or that Halloween is anti-christian. Anyway, I digress... I love the lights.

I have only seen the mini lights in purple and orange, which they sell at places like WalMart.

I don't really dig the Christmas-style lights for Halloween. I like to preserve it into more of a scary thing and less of a happy-pretty thing. The only lighting I go for are colored spot lights to illuminate a prop with a particular color (usually red, green, or blue). I'd rather see props, zombies, spider webs, dark curtains, etc.
However, I have seen a few tastefully done displays using strings of lights that are not overdone, is a proper color, and fits with the rest of the display/props. Otherwise, not my bag, baby.

For me personally, I want to separate my Halloween scene from my Christmas scene. Christmas incorporates lights, while my Halloween stuff only incorporates mood lighting.

doing most of my Haunting at campgrounds, means lights to make it stand out, I use spot lights too, but in the atmosphere there, it just fits.
haven't seen the purple or orange lights here, lots of blue it seems (me too)

I saw a string of lights at Walgreen's that is advertised for use at Halloween AND Christmas. I think they call them size C6 lights, but they are all orange and then you push a button and they change to multi-color.
That would be great since you could put them up on the house and leave them for 3 months!!
